«sugar and spice and everything nice.»
Frasier's character tones down and the comedy is far better. There are many great and classic episodes with Bulldog, Gil, Roz and Bibi; the supporting cast. Also an improvement on the direction of the radio show cast.

«Frasier - The Complete Third Season»
Not having Good English Subtitles (or Closed Captioning)is almost criminal. It's like having a park or building with no provisions for the handicapped--no ramps, not modified toilets, no close parking spaces--omissions that might lead to lawsuits for accessibility. I know several people who have refrained from buying the Frasier series (especially the seasons after season two) for the simple reason that there are no subtitles. Maybe when it comes out on Blu-Ray this will be remedied.
Top Class Show
Low class product from people who don't consider all of their customers' needs. And I'm not being unreasonable--almost every DVD from other companies includes subtitles.

«Timing... par excellence»
What comedy team had better timing than the Frasier crew? I love Lucy? Perhaps... Dick Van Dyke? Also, perhaps... but in recent years, not even the Seinfeld group could consistantly deliver great comedy that holds up to repeated viewings the way the Frasier crew does (critics tend to disagree but we'll see what future generations have to say). By the third season (out of eleven), the writers and actors hit their stride. They turned out great and consistent quality week after week, setting the bar high that few series could possibly reach. While Seinfeld, the Simpsons, and even dramatic shows like the Sopranos, go for laughs below the belt, Frasier took the high road (as did Lucy and Van Dyke) and kept their comedy for everyone to enjoy and not quite so sleazy or too topical. Their comedy is based on wit and fun, not on "what's popular right now." When all is said and done, in the long perspective of time, shows like Frasier will long be treasured by future generations when other topical shows will seem less relevent.
